Saudi Arabia’s holdings of US Treasuries stood at $162.1 billion in May, a rise of $2.2 billion month-on-month– the highest level since July 2015, new data released by the US Treasury showed.
The Kingdom maintained its 11th place among the largest holders of US debt in May. China and Japan topped the list with $1.18 trillion and $1.04 trillion, respectively.
Meanwhile, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) increased its holding by $300 million to $60 billion in the same period. Kuwait also raised its holding to $43.9 billion, an increase of $1.3 billion.
