The US Energy Information Administration (EIA) raised its forecast on Brent crude price for this year by 1.1 percent to $71.8 per barrel (bbl), according to its short-term energy outlook released on Tuesday.
For the second half of this year, the agency expects the benchmark grade to average $73/bbl.
The EIA also raised its view on US West Texas Intermediate crude prices by 2.2 percent to $69.95/bbl for 2018.
The US crude production in 2019 is expected to average 11.8 million barrels per day, up 0.3 percent from the June forecast.
The agency maintained its outlook on US output for this year at 10.79 million barrels a day.
