Dubai-based Majid Al-Futtaim is likely to tender the estimated $1.5-$2 billion construction contract to build its Mall of Saudi by the end of October, Meed reported.

The mall in Riyadh, which will be one of the largest in Saudi Arabia when completed, includes a 26,000 square-metre indoor snow park, and 300,000 square metres of shops, restaurants and entertainment areas.

Project consultants include US-based CallisonRTKL, Lebanon’s Khatib & Alami, and UK-based Faithful & Gould.

Meanwhile, contractors are also competing for a construction contract on Shomoul Holding's Avenues shopping mall development in Riyadh, Meed said.

The bidders include Cyprus-based Joannou & Paraskevaides, Italy’s Salini Impregilo, and a joint venture of India’s Shapoorji Pallonji and Saudi's Al-Fouzan Trading & General Construction.

The scheme includes a retail centre with a leasable area of 400,000 square metres, along with hotels, residential and office buildings.
