Swiss construction firm Sika opens new factory in Saudi Arabia

Switzerland-based building materials company Sika AG has opened a new production plant for concrete ingredients in Saudi Arabia, the firm said in a statement on Wednesday.

The new factory, located in Dammam, allows Sika to increase production capacity and optimize logistics by moving production closer to the building markets in Riyadh, the statement said.

So far, Sika has supplied its customers in Riyadh from the plant in Rabigh.

"Producing locally in Dammam brings us closer to our customers in the east coast of Saudi Arabia and opens up further growth potential," Ivo Schädler, Sika’s regional manager EMEA, said in the statement.
