The Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA), the Kingdom’s central bank, is in talks with the Ministry of Commerce and Investment to license firms, which use e-payment options at petrol stations, Al-Yaum newspaper reported, citing governor Ahmed Alkholifey.
The move comes as part of SAMA’s strategy to reduce cash payments by 70 percent.
