Dubai reduced municipality fees on sales at restaurants and hotels from 10 percent to 7 percent on Monday in order to reduce the cost of doing business and enhance the emirate's attractiveness as a preferred investment destination.
"We continue to work under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to provide more business facilities to enhance Dubai's competitiveness under a policy that ensures the growth of partnership between the public and private sectors," said Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
"Today, Dubai is one of the world's most popular tourist destinations. Last year we welcomed 16 million visitors and look forward to receiving 20 million in 2020 when we host the Expo. Our goal is to preserve these gains & consolidate our position as a competitive global destination," he added.
