Saudi bank loans hit SAR 1.5 trln in April

Bank loans issued to Saudi Arabia’s public and private sectors reached SAR 1.464 trillion by the end of April, compared to SAR 1.465 trillion in year-earlier period, new figures from the kingdom’s central bank revealed.

 

Private sector lending rose by 1 percent year-on-year (YoY) to SAR 1.428 trillion during the month.

 

Meanwhile, the value of loans issued to the public sector declined by 24 percent YoY to SAR 36.8 billion, the lowest since March 2012.
