Saudi Air Defense detected two ballistic missiles launched by Al Houthi militia from Yemen on Saturday night towards densely populated civilian areas, according to a statement published by Saudi Press Agency.
The two missiles were fired towards Khamis Mushait, and one of them was intercepted and destroyed by the Royal Saudi Air Defense, while the other fell in an unpopulated desert area, Colonel Turki Al-Maliki, the official spokesman of the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen, was quoted as saying.
No casualties were reported.
Al-Maliki said the firing of ballistic missiles towards populated cities and villages is contrary to international humanitarian law.
