Mobile Telecommunications Co. Saudi Arabia’s (Zain Saudi) board of directors has appointed the company’s chief operating officer, Sultan Al Deghaither, as chief executive starting from July 1, 2018, the telco said in a statement on Tadawul.
The decision comes following the resignation of Zain Saudi CEO Peter Kaliaropoulos, which will become effective on June 30, 2018.
Al Deghaither started his career with Zain Saudi in 2009 as radio planning and optimization manager. He led the commercial launch of the first 4G Network in the Kingdom back in 2011.
The new CEO has also led one of the biggest projects in Zain Saudi's history (Project Reload) with a total investment of SAR 4.5 billion. He was appointed as chief technology officer after the successful completion of the project, the statement added.
