The National Shipping Company of Saudi Arabia’s (Bahri) on Sunday said its oil tanker (Abqaiq) suffered only minor damages and no crew were injured during the April 3 attack carried out by Houthi militants.

The attack took place in international waters south-west of Al Hudaydah port in Yemen.

The cargo was unaffected and there was no loss of containment, the company said in a statement to the Saudi bourse. The crude carrier successfully resumed its northward journey across the Red Sea after the attack.

Bahri said it is grateful to the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen that intervened and ensured that the oil tanker’s journey towards its destination was "safe and uninterrupted".

Last week, Colonel Turki Al Malki, spokesman of the Saudi-led Coalition, called for putting Al Hudaydah port under international surveillance, and control to prevent others from using it as a military base to launch attacks against navigation routes in the region.
