Saudi Arabia is actively paying contractors their dues for projects across the Kingdom without delay, Al-Hayat newspaper quoted Finance Minister Mohammed Al-Jadaan as saying.
“The Finance Ministry— for the first time ever— paid all dues to contractors by the end of December 2017. Demands in 2018 were between zero and SAR 15 billion,” Al-Jadaan said in New York on Tuesday.
On another subject, the minister said the Kingdom is open to welcoming foreign banks, and that officials are still studying applications of several international lenders looking to enter the Saudi market.
Al-Jadaan was part of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s high-profile delegation to the United States, and participated in efforts and discussions to attract foreign investment to Saudi Arabia.
