The Saudi Ministry of Housing announced the time remaining for landowners to pay the white land fees, ahead of imposing a tax of 2.5 percent of the land total value.
Starting March 2, landowners in Riyadh still have 15 days to pay the required fees, 37 days in Jeddah, 65 days in Dammam and 273 days in Makkah.
On June 8, 2016, Saudi Arabia started applying the vacant land fees across the Saudi capital, Jeddah, Dammam and Makkah, Argaam reported.
Land bills were issued for a total area of 411.5 million square meters in the four cities.
Based on the housing ministry’s schedule for the tax imposition, Riyadh would be covered by the end of March 2018, Jeddah at the beginning of April and the Eastern Province by April-end.
