Saudi Telecom Co. (STC) has named Nasser bin Sulaiman Al Nasser as acting chief executive officer for a period of six months starting from Feb. 26, the company said in a statement to Tadawul.
The decision followed the resignation of CEO Khaled Bin Hussain Biyari, who was appointed on Monday by King Salman as Assistant Minister of Defense for Executive Affairs.
Al Nasser has extensive experience in the telecommunications sector. Earlier this year, he was appointed chief operating officer. In 2015, he was named STC’s senior VP for technology and operations.
In 1996, he played a role in the establishment of the mobile network and its expansions inside the Kingdom. He then moved to CITC, the sector’s regulator. He also previously worked for Mobily as head of the network and information technology sector, the statement added.
