Etihad Atheeb Telecommunication Co. (GO) said in a bourse statement on Wednesday that the court rejected its appeal to suspend the decision of the Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) on retrieving the spectrum awarded to the telco in June 2017.
The telecom market regulator’s decision came as GO failed to pay the first installment of the total value of allocated spectrum.
Riyadh administrative court will hear the company’s legal claim to revoke CITC’s decision on March 13, GO added.
The company secured 2×10MHz in the 700MHz band, in addition to a paired 10MHz block in the 1800MHz band, for SAR 2.1 billion, with 15-year validity (from 1 January 2018).
The first installment represents 30 percent, or SAR 619 million of the total value of the frequencies.
