Saudi Arabia’s General Directorate of Passports said it has received 107,000 applications for 140 jobs that it has advertised at airports and border crossings.
This is the first time that the agency is recruiting women.
Official GDP spokesman, Lt. Col. Talal Al-Shalhoub, told Arab News that the applications will be processed electronically. He said that the directorate will filter applications through an automatic coding system to ensure that applicants meet the job description.
The job requires applicants to be aged between 25-35, and not married to a non-Saudi national.
Hiring more women is a key component of the Kingdom’s economic reform plan, Saudi Vision 2030.
