Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) said domestic flight fares will be liberalized by 2019, local newspaper Al-Madina reported.
“Local air fare liberalization is a step towards fair competition and helps ease ticket prices in the long term,” said Abdullah Al-Kharif, aviation authority spokesman.
Domestic air fares in Saudi Arabia rose by five percent from January 1 following the introduction of value-added tax (VAT).
