The National Water Co. (NWC) will submit to the Saudi Credit Bureau (Simah) a list of the utility bill defaulters at any time starting from January, Al-Eqtisadiah reported on Monday, citing NWC’s chief executive, Mohammad Muqali.
The state-run utility might submit subscriber data and credit history in the household or commercial sector either in January or before the end of Q1 2018.
The data will be referred to Simah only after customers’ review, as part of NWC’s efforts to protect subscriber rights, Muqali said.
He added that the coordination agreement between the Saudi Ministry of Environment, Water & Agriculture and Simah will be postponed until Q2 2018 to enhance the required infrastructure.
NWC had earlier joined SIMAH to boost its services in the domestic and business sectors by identifying customer credit behavior and evaluating financial patterns on a fair basis.
