Najran Cement Co. on Sunday said its board of directors has decided to suspend the third production line, which has a capacity of 6,500 tons per day, due to the high clinker inventories.
The company’s second line, which has a capacity of 3,000 tons per day, will temporarily restart operations from January 1, 2018, the cement producer said in a statement to Tadawul.
The decisions will not affect the firm’s obligations towards its clients and any related financial impact will be announced before the end of Q1 2018, it added.
Further developments will be announced as they occur.
In early March, the company decided to suspend production on the company’s second clinker line, due to low demand, Argaam previously reported.
