Saudi Arabian Oil Co. (Saudi Aramco), the world’s largest crude oil exporter, has awarded Baker Hughes a $175 million contract to boost productivity in the Haradh and Hawiyah gas fields, according to a company statement.
Baker Hughes will supply 27 gas pressure systems including turbines and power generators to extract gas from both fields.
Saudi Aramco has signed a number of agreements this week to promote local manufacturing. Deals were signed with companies including US-based Schlumberger, Canada’s SNC Lavalin, and China’s Sinopec.
