Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) has signed an agreement with Mobile Telecommunications Company Saudi Arabia (Zain Saudi) to provide high-speed broadband internet to cover 28 governorates in Makkah, Sharqiya, Riyadh and Asir regions.
The agreement aims to provide 4G internet to about 3,900 villages across four areas in Saudi Arabia, with 800,000 thousand citizens and residents, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
Under the agreement, the necessary technical infrastructure will be developed to bridge the digital gap in rural areas, in order for residents to be able to benefit from high-speed Internet, and easy access to information and government services.
