The Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage (SCTH) has awarded nine museum and heritage projects worth over SAR 433 million to a number of local companies across the Kingdom, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Saturday.
SCTH will award five more projects, part of a scheme to develop 230 cultural heritage projects costing more than SAR 1.4 billion.
The projects include the establishment of new museums, development of existing ones, and the expansion of the National Museum.
They also include maintenance, fencing, and placing information signs at archaeological and heritage sites, in addition to other projects to rehabilitate a number of archaeological sites across the Kingdom.
