Samtah municipality launches SAR 240 mln projects to boost development

Samtah municipality has launched SAR 240 million projects in the province, state-run Saudi Press Agency reported on Thursday, citing the municipality chairman, Hadi bin Daghriri.

 

Developments are progressing as scheduled, including asphalting, lighting, paving, establishment of new markets and slaughterhouses, along with other projects to mitigate flood risks.

 

The ongoing projects have helped boost trade traffic and commercial activities within the province, bin Daghriri said.

 

Samtah has offered many investment projects, such as setting up a commercial market, malls and fuel stations.

 

The province is also close to signing contracts for several project, including the industrial zone which will serve as a hub for all workshops and some professions on a total area of 500,000 square meters.

 

In addition, the municipality is seeking to attract investors to the highly-populated province, so as to build a specialist hospital, a mall and a 60,000 square meter-entertainment city, bin Daghriri added.

 

Bin Daghriri added that Samtah province municipality’s “Sahat Al-Watan” project has enhanced the planned development works, which are aimed to meet resident demands and push for development in the province.

 

The project spans on a total area of 31,000 square meters and comprises a park, two areas for national celebrations and a sports track.

 

Meanwhile, Samtah opened an office to serve Saudi soldiers on the southern border, as part of an initiative launched by the ministry of municipalities and rural affairs, he added.
