Almarai Co. on Thursday said it has started commercial operations in the central processing plant III in Al Kharj.
The plant has a capital investment of SAR 1.2 billion, financed through operating cash flows, in addition to the funds received from the Saudi Industrial Development Fund (SIDF), Almarai said in a bourse statement.
The related financial impact will reflect on earnings of Q4 2017.
The plant comprises seven production lines for dairy products – including milk and yogurt – with the aim to boost the company’s dairy production capacity.
Earlier this year, Almarai had said it expected to launch entire operations at the central processing plant in H2 2017.
