Saudis conducted e-transactions worth SAR 30 bln in 2016: CITC

Saudi Arabia witnessed SAR 30 billion worth of e-transactions in 2016, making it one of the biggest markets for online transactions in the Middle East and North Africa, the Kingdom’s Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) said in a report.

 

Average spending by Saudis on online shopping stood at SAR 4,000, with 42 percent of total buyers shopping on social networks.

 

Airlines and travel services accounted for almost two thirds of total spending on e-transactions in the Kingdom, the report added.
