Talks concerning the Saudi-Kuwaiti joint Khafji oilfield are ongoing, and production will resume shortly, Kuwait’s oil minister Essam Al-Marzouq said on Monday, cited by state-owned Kuwait News Agency (KUNA).
The Khafji oilfield is an offshore oilfield run by a company jointly owned by Saudi Aramco and Kuwait Oil Co.
Saudi Arabia’s meteorology and environment authority decided to shut down operations in the field in March 2014, as it failed to comply with environmental regulations, Argaam reported earlier.
