Abu Dhabi’s $10 billion triple-tranche international bond offering was three times oversubscribed, with the orderbook closing above $30 billion, state news agency WAM reported.

The three tranches include: 2.5 percent $3 billion tranche that matures in 2022, sold at 65 basis points over US treasuries; 3.125 percent $4 billion tranche that matures in 2027, priced at 85 basis points over the US treasuries; and $3 billion tranche offering 4.125 percent that matures in 2047, priced 130 basis points above US treasuries.

The bonds, priced on Oct.3, are scheduled to settle today, subject to customary closing conditions, according to Abu Dhabi’s Department of Finance.

The sale saw 78 percent allocation to foreign investors, and 22 percent to Middle East investors.

The final geographic allocation for the five-year bonds was 78 percent foreign investors —with the US accounting for 41 percent — and 21 percent to investors from the Middle East.

The allocation for the 10-year bonds was 67 percent foreign investors and 33 percent from the Middle East.

For the 30-year bonds, 92 percent was foreign investors and 8 percent from the Middle East.

Among investor type, fund managers were the biggest buyer, followed by banks and private banks.

Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Citigroup, First Abu Dhabi Bank, HSBC and JP Morgan were joint lead managers and joint bookrunners; and Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank and Union National Bank were co-lead managers.
