Saudis have spent a total of around SAR 98.8 billion on outbound tourism in 2016, up by 17 percent compared to the previous year, data issued by the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA) showed.
The number of trips abroad last year rose 2 percent to 21.3 million trips, compared to 2015.
A total of 11.3 million trips, or 53 percent of the total outbound travel, were to Gulf countries in 2016.
