Saudi POS transactions up 13% in July

27/08/2017 Argaam Special

Point-of-sale (POS) transactions in Saudi Arabia rose 13 percent to SAR 15.3 billion in July from SAR 13.6 billion a year earlier, official figures from the Kingdom’s central bank showed.

Data showed that 54 million transactions were processed through nearly 304,000 points-of-sales in shopping malls, mega retail stores, and pharmacies.

Last April, Saudi Arabia’s King Salman restored bonuses and allowances for state employees, scaling back an austerity program that was unpopular among citizens.
