Saudi Arabia’s housing ministry on Tuesday launched the seventh phase of its Sakani housing program that includes allocation of 28,051 housing products.
The phase comprises of 7,700 mortgage units, 12,544 off-plan units (Wafi), and 7,807 plots of land allocated free of cost.
The Sakani program is part of the ministry’s efforts to distribute homes and financial assistance to 280,000 families by year-end.
Since the program launched in February, the housing ministry has allocated a total of 100,781 housing units while the Real Estate Development Fund offered 53,900 products.
Saudi’s Vision 2030 aims to increase the percentage of home owners among Saudi citizens to 52 per cent by 2020 from 47 per cent today.
