Kuwait will finalize cleaning up a crude oil spill near the Ras al-Zour area this week, according to the Kuwaiti Al Rai newspaper.
The country’s oil minister Essam al-Marzouq told the newspaper on Sunday that no new patches had been found and that the government was working on clearing the patches of oil near the shore.
The Kuwaiti government said earlier that the incident was being investigated, but the cause and magnitude of the spill remain unannounced.
