Saudi Electricity Co. (SEC), the Gulf's largest utility, will begin operations next month at Al-Khashal power plant in Jazan, while Al-Aredah's transmission power plant will come on stream in 2018, state-owned Saudi Press Agency said on Monday.
The new facilities are set to enhance power services across several provinces in the region.
Tadawul-listed SEC added that other power projects are ongoing across the Kingdom to improve the quality of its power services.
