Alsorayai Trading and Industrial Group Co. has started trial operations at its calcium carbonate plant’s first stage on Thursday, the company said in a statement, adding that commercial production is expected to begin within two weeks.
Trial run of the plant’s second stage, which will take one month, is set to start during the first week of September after completing main electricity work. Commercial operations are expected to begin during the first half of October 2017, while financial impact will reflect on Q4 results, the company added.
Last September, Alsorayai had signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Al-Jazeera Paints Co. to set up a calcium carbonate factory, Argaam reported.
Al-Sorayai Industrial Investment Group will hold a 27 percent stake in the plant, Alsorayai Trading and Industrial Group Co. (25 percent), and Al-Jazeera Paints Factory Co. (48 percent).
