The Saudi Contractors Authority (SCA) said that the Saudization rate in the construction sector has increased to 20 percent, Al-Eqtisadiah newspaper reported on Thursday, citing SCA’s chairman Osama Al Afaleq.
Meanwhile, the labor ministry’s decision to raise Saudization rate by 4 percent starting from the next year, will boost the rate at various businesses to 15 percent from the current 11 percent.
A new study was finalized to boost Saudization rate at the sector and lure more nationals, particularly to construction and infrastructure projects.
Al Afaleq added that the contracting sector is in need to impose Saudization on employment and maintenance contracts, citing that the move will fast-track the nationalization of the sector.
