Construction at the Riyadh Metro’s bridges for the blue line has exceeded King Fahad Road and is currently 83 percent complete, King Abdulaziz Project for Public Transport in Riyadh said on its Twitter account.

The bridges on the blue line, which extend through Al-Olaya, Al-Batha, and Al-Hayer roads with a total length of 38 kilometers (km) include 39 stations.

The Riyadh Metro network has six lines at a total length of 176 km and 85 metro stations, Argaam earlier reported.

The network will be connected to King Khalid International Airport and King Abdullah Financial District, main universities, downtown, and the public transport center.

When completed in 2018, the metro will span 176 kilometers and link 85 stations above and underground.

Arriyadh Development Authority (ADA) had awarded the design and construction contract of the metro to three consortiums BACS, Arriyadh New Mobility (ANM) and FAST in August 2013.
