Saudi Electricity Co., the Gulf’s largest utility, has denied news that it has raised power tariffs across the Kingdom.
The denial, on the company’s official Twitter account, came in response to claims circulating on social media that the utility will apply new tarrifs for power cosumption at SAR 0.19 per kilowatt/hour, which implies a 280 percent hike in usage costs, when compared to the current prices.
SEC confirmed that this news were completely false and inaccurate.
