The fifth edition of the ArabNet Digital Summit opened in Dubai on Tuesday with over 1,600 attendees and 120 speakers, as well as international and regional investors, according to a statement by the organizers.
The forum’s opening ceremony featured the launch of the Dubai Data Economic Impact Report, which sheds light on the potential economic impact of open and shared data in Dubai.
The event also hosted government and corporate leaders from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Lebanon, Morocco, Egypt and the USA to explore the role of government programs in stimulating digital innovation and entrepreneurship.
Topics discussed on the first day included emerging trends and opportunities in e-commerce, e-retail and payments in MENA, as well as digital transformations occurring in the banking sector.
The two-day ArabNet Digital Summit will conclude on Wednesday.
