Saudi Arabia’s ministry of labor is planning to launch a “flexible working hours” system to boost employment opportunities for citizens in the private sector, Al-Madina newspaper reported on Tuesday, citing unnamed sources familiar with the matter.
Under the new system, Saudi nationals’ wages will be paid per hour once every week.
Employers will not be obliged to compensate workers for vacations.
The new recruitment scheme, which is different from part-time jobs, offers registration in the social insurance system, medical insurance services and end-of-service benefits.
The flexible system will help increase Saudi employment rates in all sectors, the sources added.
