Abu Dhabi’s NPCC wins Aramco contracts for offshore oil rigs

Saudi Arabian Oil Co. (Saudi Aramco), the world’s largest crude exporter, has awarded Abu Dhabi-based National Petroleum Construction Co. (NPCC) a contract for building four offshore oil rigs, NPCC said in a statement Monday.

The contract will include building of undersea pipelines, tie-ins and other equipment for Al Safaniya, Zuluf and Berri oil fields in Saudi Arabia, CEO Aqeel Madhi added in the statement.

The deal is a part of long-term agreement which the two companies signed in October to deliver a large number of offshore oil and gas platforms, tie-in platforms, pipelines, power cables, and other infrastructure.

In January, Saudi Aramco awarded two contracts to NPCC to build a total of 17 bases for its oil platforms in the Berri and Marjan oilfields, Argaam reported.
