Riyadh-based ACWA Power International has priced $814 million bonds at 5.95 percent with 22 year maturity, the company said in a statement.
The bonds will be issued by Acwa Power Management and Investment One Ltd, a subsidiary of Acwa Power based at Dubai International Financial Centre.
The dollar-denominated bond will be listed on the Irish Stock Exchange and it will be secured through cash flow and certain other securities from eight power generation and water desalination plants in Saudi Arabia.
The offering, in line with ACWA Power’s growth strategy, is designed to enable the company to diversify its sources of financing, raise longer maturity capital commensurate to the maturity profile of its asset base, repay certain existing facilities, and to enhance its funding flexibility, the statement said.
Moody’s and Standard & Poor's are expected to rate the dollar bond at Baa3 / BBB, respectively.
Jefferies Group was mandated as the sole advisor to structure the bond, while Citi Bank, CCB Singapore, Mizuho, Al-Ahli Capital and Standard Chartered Bank acted as joint bookmakers.
