Dubai-based contractor Drake & Scull International (DSI) is expecting to hear "very soon" from Saudi Aramco on payments worth SAR 1.05 billion riyals ($280 million) or almost half of the outstanding amount for the work it did for the oil company, Reuters reported on Monday, citing DSI’s chief executive, Wael Allan.
The payments are related to the work implemented by the contractor at the Saudi oil producer’s King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Centre (KAPSARC).
Allan said that the company may consider all legal options, including arbitration, to recover the remaining dues for its work on the research center.
"We feel strongly that we are due some of these claims and we will pursue them to the end," Allan added.
The project was completed in 2012 at a total investment cost of $543 million, according to DSI's website.
