Saudi minister of water, environment and agriculture, Abdul Rahman Al Fadhli signed on Sunday a SAR 5.16 billion contract with China-based SEPCO 3 to complete the third stage of Yanbu power plant.
The project will have an export capacity of 550,000 cubic meters of water and 2,500 megawatts of electricity, SPA reported.
Al Fadhli said that this project was one of the insolvent projects that the government managed to control in a timely manner in order to achieve best economic results.
When project is complete, it will export a total of 1.032 million cubic meters of water per day to Medina and nearby cities.
