Saudi Arabia saw a 6 percent increase in the number of hotels this year to 2,036 compared to 1,908 in 2016, the Commission for Tourism and National Heritage’s (SCTH) annual report showed on Sunday.
However, only 1,668 hotels were licensed.
Furnished apartments stood at 6,940, with a 4 percent year-on-year (YoY) rise, while accommodation facilities grew by 17 percent YoY to 506,716 across the kingdom this year.
Saudi Arabia was also a home to 36 tourism resorts in the same period, the report added.
