Saudi Arabia, UAE to set up joint council

Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) signed an agreement on Monday to set up a coordination council, state-owned Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

 

The joint council aims to further enhance mutual cooperation in different fields.

 

The agreement was signed by Nizar Madani, Saudi minister of state for foreign affairs and Ali Al Shamsi, deputy secretary general of the UAE’s National Security Council, in presence of King Salman and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.

 

Ministers and officials from the two countries will sit on the council which will alternate its meetings between UAE and Saudi Arabia.
