Saudi Oger’s Paris-based unit Oger International has not paid salaries of 56,000 employees for several months, as the company has been facing a severe financial crunch, Radio France International (RFI) reported.
The company’s financial difficulties began in 2013, but the crisis was not announced due to employee concerns about layoffs, RFI added, citing unnamed French staff at the construction firm.
The French construction and engineering firm was incorporated in 1979 as an affiliate of the Riyadh-based Saudi Oger Ltd.
