Etihad Etisalat Co. (Mobily) submitted on Thursday a written response and supporting documents to an arbitration tribunal related to the claim that it’s owed SAR 2.2 billion from Mobile Telecommunications Company Saudi Arabia’s (Zain Saudi).
Zain Saudi will have one month from the date of receipt to issue a formal response, Mobily said in a statement to Tadawul.
Earlier this month, the tribunal granted Mobily a 15-day extension to allow the company’s new executive management to study the case and prepare a written response to the legal documents provided by Zain Saudi.
The two mobile operators have been disputing since 2014 over payments which Mobily claims were due in 2013. Under a 2008 contract, Mobily was tasked with providing services, including domestic roaming and site sharing to Zain Saudi, which began commercial operations that year.
