Saudi Arabian Mining Co. (Maaden) said its subsidiary Maaden Phosphate Co. (MPC) will temporarily shut down its ammonia plant at Ras Al Khair for a 14-day technical maintenance period, starting August 21, the company said in a statement on Thursday.
The company said it does not expect “significant” financial impact, and that it will continue to meet its obligations towards customers.
The Diammonium Phosphate (DAP) plant, which uses ammonia, will continue its production as scheduled.
MPC is a limited liability company co-owned by Maaden, which holds 70 percent and SABIC, which owns 30 percent.
