Saudi Steel Pipes Company will start commercial operations at its poly-silicon plant in Jubail Industrial City II in 2016 after successfully completing the trial launch of the project, which began in December last year, it said in a statement to Tadawul on Monday.
Financial impact of the project will be reflected by the end of 2016, it added.
The plant is a joint project with Korean construction and chemicals company, KCC Corporation. It will produce 3,350 tons of solar-grade polysilicon, the main material used in the manufacture of solar products, according to Argaam.
