Amana Insurance says losses down to 67.2% of capital after May

Amana Cooperative Insurance Company said on Thursday that its accumulated losses dropped to SAR 214.9 million, or 67.2 percent of its capital, after it reported a net profit of SAR 17.2 million for May.

 

At the end of April, the insurer said it had accumulated SAR 232.1 million in losses, representing 72.5 percent of its capital.

 

The Saudi market regulator’s new policy requires listed companies that have accumulated losses equal to 50 percent or more of their capital to publish monthly, unaudited financial updates.
