Saudi Kayan starts operations at Jubail detergent plant

Saudi Kayan Petrochemical Co. (Saudi Kayan) said in a bourse statement on Thursday that it has started commercial operations at its natural alcohol (detergent) plant.

 

The plant will produce 50,000 tons of detergent per year.

 

Plant sales and associated costs will be reflected in income statements as of June 4, chairman Omar Bin Abdullah Al Amoudi said.

 

In August 2011, Kayan signed a contract with China's Sinopec to build a natural alcohol plant in Jubail Industrial City. The facility was put on a trial run in June 2014.
