King Abdullah Port at King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC) has reached a capacity of 2.7 million containers up from 800,000 last year, positioning it one step closer to becoming the kingdom’s second-largest port, Fahd Hamidaddin, chief marketing officer at KAEC told Argaam.
Hamidaddin said the community is now hosting 95 companies, including logistics, industrial, and pharmaceutical firms.
KAEC is developed by Emaar the Economic City (Emaar EC), which is 30 percent-owned by UAE-based Emaar Properties. The remaining 40 percent is held by a number of Saudi companies, while 30 percent has been offered for public subscription.
